Challenge. Define how social media can be used to increase patient and caregiver knowledge of the science of gene-therapy, how it differs from current treatments, and its promises and limitations.
Insight. Individuals turn to social media first to research gene therapy and locations of treatment centers. We want to empower these individuals with knowledge via digestible bits of information, at the appropriate educational level, that will enable them to have productive conversations with their providers.
